Description
  • A competitive economy is an economy with a consistently high rate of productivity growth.
  • Competitiveness depends on the performance of the economy's SME-fuelled industry.
  • To be competitive, the EU must outperform its competitors in terms of research and innovation, information and communication technologies, entrepreneurship, competition, education and training.
  • The Lisbon Strategy set out to make Europe the most competitive and dynamic economy in the world: competitiveness is therefore one of the top political priorities of the European Union.
