"Prevention or elimination of differences in the technical content of standards having the same scope, particularly those differences that may cause hindrances to trade.
NOTE Harmonisation of these standards is considered to be achieved when the products manufactured to the national standards of one country may be regarded as complying, without modification, with the standards of the other countries and vice versa."
