Role/Definition

"Person in charge of CEN's current and daily work and responsible for the practical implementation of decisions taken by the General Assembly (AG), Administrative Board (CA), and the committees set up by those bodies, unless otherwise agreed."
Note: Known as 'Director General' since 2010-01-01.

Responsibilities

  1. In the capacity of managing director of the CEN Management Centre (CMC), directs the operations of the CMC and has authority to engage and dismiss its personnel.
  2. Manages the funds of CEN.
  3. Is responsible for CEN's current and daily business with full authority for these activities.
  4. Ensures that all his/her work and the activity of CEN's regular and statutory agencies are carried out in accordance with the statutes, the internal rules and formal decisions.

Role/ Responsibilities

The Chief Executive Officer of the respective organization is responsible, inter alia, for implementing the ISO/IEC Directives and other rules for the technical work. For this purpose, the office of the CEO arranges all contacts between the technical committees, the council board and the technical management board.

Deviations from the procedures set out in the present document shall not be made without the authorization of the Chief Executive Officers of ISO or IEC, or the authorization of the ISO/IEC Joint Technical Advisory Board (JTAB).
